Spartak Moscow midfielder Gedson Fernandes has been awarded the Russian Premier League’s Goal of the Month for April, marking the second consecutive month a Spartak player has taken the honor. The Portuguese international earned the prize for his long-range strike in the 25th round match against Akhmat Grozny, which ended 3-1 in Spartak’s favor.

The goal topped the fan vote and shared the lead in other categories: Fernandes and Sergey Babkin each received two votes from RPL experts, while Fernandes and Lucas Olaza tied among Match Premier commentators. Other nominees included Danil Krugovoy (CSKA Moscow), Amar Rahmanovich (Krylya Sovetov), Konstantin Tyukavin and Mumi Ngamale (both Dynamo Moscow), Sven Karić (Pari Nizhny Novgorod), Aleksey Batrakov (Lokomotiv Moscow), and Mingiyan Beveyev (Baltika).
Last month, Spartak’s Ruslan Litvinov had claimed the March Goal of the Month award, making it back-to-back wins for the club.
