
ARLINGTON, Texas — Allisha Gray poured in 26 points, Angel Reese contributed 12 points and 16 rebounds for her 51st career double-double, and the Atlanta Dream secured a 77-72 victory over the Dallas Wings on Tuesday night.
Reese hauled in eight offensive boards—one more than the entire Wings team managed. The 24-year-old also grabbed 14 rebounds in Saturday’s opener, becoming the second-youngest WNBA player to reach 50 career double-doubles, trailing only Tina Charles.
Jordin Canada chipped in 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Rhyne Howard added 14 points for Atlanta (2-0), which got just five points from its bench. Brionna Jones (right knee) did not play.
For Dallas (1-1), Arike Ogunbowale led all scorers with 20 points. Paige Bueckers added 15, and Jessica Shepard posted 12 points and eight rebounds. Top draft pick Azzi Fudd was sidelined with a right knee injury.

PHOENIX — Natasha Howard recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds, Nia Coffey drilled a wide-open 3-pointer with 25.6 seconds left to give Minnesota a four-point lead, and the Lynx held on to beat the Mercury.
Coffey’s third triple—making it 87-83—came off a sharp drive and pass from rookie Olivia Miles. Miles then grabbed a rebound after a missed 3-pointer and sank 1 of 2 free throws with 13.2 seconds remaining to seal the win.
Coffey finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Miles contributed 13 points, six rebounds, and seven assists for Minnesota (1-1). Kayla McBride added 14 points, while Courtney Williams and Emma Cechova each scored 11.
Kahleah Copper poured in 30 points for Phoenix (1-2), shooting 9-for-21 from the field and 10-for-13 at the free-throw line. DeWanna Bonner added 16 points, Alyssa Thomas had 10 points and eight assists, and Natasha Mack grabbed 10 rebounds with nine points.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Bridget Carleton scored a career-high 26 points, including five 3-pointers, and Sarah Ashlee Barker’s putback just before the buzzer lifted expansion Portland to its first-ever victory over New York.
After New York was called for a three-second violation with 13.8 seconds left, Carleton’s 3-point attempt bounced hard off the backboard without hitting the rim. But Barker fought for the rebound and put it back as teammates mobbed her in celebration.
Carla Leite added 21 points and six assists for Portland (1-1). Luisa Geiselsoder and Kamiah Smalls each scored 13, and Barker finished with five points in 22 minutes off the bench.
All five New York starters (2-1) scored in double figures. Rookie Pauline Astier posted a season-high 24 points, and Marine Johannes added 18. Jonquel Jones finished with 17 points, Breanna Stewart had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks, and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton contributed 10.
