Al-Hilal were on the brink of seeing their title hopes officially vanish on Saturday, trailing 1-0 until the dying moments. However, Al-Nassr conceded an own goal in stoppage time, forcing a 1-1 draw and postponing the championship decision.

“It was a tough match against a great team, but it ended in a draw. Our hopes are not over,” Kanno told the Eight Network after the game.

He added, “Hope is still alive. We will fight until the last second, and if God wills it, we will achieve something.”

Reflecting on conceding first in the opening half, Kanno explained, “When you miss chances, it’s natural to concede. But it was a good game from both sides. We tried to execute what the coach asked, and in the end we earned a point. Better things are ahead.”

Al-Nassr currently top the Saudi Pro League standings with 83 points, five ahead of second-placed Al-Hilal—though Al-Hilal have one game in hand.

Only one match remains for Al-Nassr, against Damac in the final round. A win would be enough to secure the title.
